Call for Abstracts

We invite abstract submissions for the AI Clinical Congress Poster Competition and Exhibition. Successful abstracts will be printed as posters for the Poster Exhibition and Showcase.

The poster competition and presentations are confined to healthcare professionals only, including HCPs still in training or education — e.g. medical, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and clinical psychology students.

What to Submit

Poster content suggestions

Practical experiences relating to the investigation, utilisation or adoption of Artificial Intelligence to improve healthcare delivery, quality or costs.
Any topic relevant to healthcare improvement is acceptable, e.g. quality and process improvements, educational initiatives, or financial improvements.
Posters should address the clinical delivery of care, in any health setting. Speculative R&D posters, e.g. drug discovery or optimisation, where results may not translate into care for many years, are not encouraged — we are seeking immediate use and validation projects, even if at an early stage.
Cross-cutting projects which accelerate screening, diagnosis, early assessment, intervention and treatment are especially welcomed.
Projects which lower cost, improve clinical outcomes, share data, protect data and enhance efficiency in healthcare delivery using AI at some level are especially encouraged.
Posters demonstrating cross-functional team collaboration, e.g. multidisciplinary team working across healthcare disciplines and primary care teams, including collaboration with any allied colleagues supporting care delivery (health administration, training, engineering, catering, care assistants, stores, etc.), are also encouraged and welcomed.

Bursaries are awarded at the judges’ discretion, with an additional commendation for the “people’s choice award” (which may or may not be a bursary recipient). Publicity for the winning poster and presenter will be afforded at the Congress and in post-meeting publicity online, in video recordings and in print media.

Judging Criteria

How posters are assessed

Posters are independently assessed by a panel of judges using the following weighted criteria.

Originality, innovation and impact

25%

Relevance to healthcare, ease of integration into everyday clinical practice

20%

Scientific and educational quality, relevance for sustainable healthcare delivery

20%

Immediate impact on patient care and healthcare resource utilisation / improvement

15%

Visual presentation, design, clarity of communication

10%

Scalability — supporting larger adoption and ease of integration into existing ICT systems

Abstract Requirements

Before you submit

Abstracts must not exceed 300 words, excluding the title, author names and affiliations. Abstracts should be structured under the headings Background, Objective, Methods, Results and Conclusion.

Submissions should describe original work relating to the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare, clinical practice, research, education or health system innovation. Previously presented work may be accepted if clearly declared.

Poster presenters, or nominated HCPs, should be in attendance on the day to address queries from delegates. Non-attended posters will be excluded from the final adjudication for awards.

Presentation Tips for Success

Make your poster count

Be clear in the use case and application.

Explain the problem being addressed. Keep text concise. Use figures and graphics clearly.

Focus on practical clinical impact, rather than technical detail.

Make content legible; label graphs and units of measurement clearly.

Highlight how your findings contrast with today's practice.

Consider the financial and related outcomes your project addresses or points to.

If financial validation is available, use it — or make reasonable estimates as to benefit.

Submissions should be the author's own work, with any necessary ethical or institutional approvals in place.

Appendix

Poster specifications

Poster size: A1 (594 × 841 mm), portrait orientation.
Submit as a high-resolution PDF suitable for printing.
Minimum font size: 24 pt for body text.
Use clear headings, graphics and diagrams where appropriate.
Include the title, author(s), institution(s) and contact email.
Any patient information or images must be fully anonymised and used with appropriate approvals.
